No two days are ever the same here at Yew Tree Nursery. Our children are always offered a multitude of experiences and things to explore. Our children start their morning playing with exciting resources in the messy room, and having breakfast. After breakfast the children enjoy morning circle time. This allows them the opportunity to feel valued and welcomed and to check in how they are feeling and what activities are on offer for that day. The children enjoy routine and count the children at nursery, then children spilt into their key groups and spend sometimes with their key family doing adult led activities which have been planned with children’s interests and next steps in mind. The children are then give time to be themselves and to choose their own activities and therefore lead their own learning.
We pride ourselves in offering plenty of the essential time children need for play, be it in the sensory room, learning den, in our charming garden, or in the confines of our bespoke nursery building with all the plentiful resources on offer to inspire little minds.
The children are given the necessary free flow access between the nursery and the garden, enabling them to learn in their way, in an environment that is right for them. Our enthusiastic and caring staff are always at hand to offer any support needed.
We emphasise and build good working relationships with our parents and carers to make sure every child’s individual needs are met. This we ensure through daily handovers and regular opportunities to talk to your child’s key worker. Every child in the nursery has an online learning journal, which allows parents and carers to access all aspects of their child’s day including observations, photos and videos. This is not only very enjoyable, but also extremely beneficial during the settling-in period.
Our aim in the Nursery is to give each child the best possible start in building a true love for learning through their play and exploration. The children are at the heart of everything we do and we take every step to ensure that they flourish in a happy and nurturing environment.
